The 2026 CACCE Steering Committee provides national leadership that helps strengthen and support PSW/HCA educators across Canada. Its purpose is to guide CACCE’s priorities, champion educator needs, and foster collaboration that enhances the quality and consistency of PSW/HCA education. By bringing educators and partners together, the Steering Committee helps build a connected, empowered community committed to excellent care.
Laura BulmerChairperson, Ontario
Over the last 25+ years she has held the positions of PSW Program Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator and Program/Curriculum Developer in addition to being a theory, lab, and clinical instructor. Her focus and passion for PSW education and advocacy has been recognized in the media for her work on provincial and national committees.

Lisa Beveridge British Columbia – on leave

Beginning her career as a nurse, Lisa worked in Critical Care, Interventional Radiology, various outpatient programs and Complex Care. In 2011, Lisa transitioned into education and began teaching in the Health Care Assistant programs at VCC. In her current role, Lisa coordinates the delivery of the Health Care Assistant, Acute Care for Health Care Assistants, and Health Career Access Programs.

Lisa is excited to join CACCE and bring her experience in curriculum development, program evaluation, people management, and stakeholder collaboration, forward to support the Executive Team. With a Masters of Health Administration, Degree in Nursing and Provincial Instructor Diploma, Lisa provides a diverse perspective as she evaluates challenges through a health care, education and administrative lens.

Lanette NordickMedia Team, British Columbia

I am invested in the education of Health Care Assistants to support our age-ed population in the holistic fulfillment of their health and well-being. My interests include all aspects of older adult health, chronic illness, dementia, and palliative care. In collaboration with my colleagues across Canada and with unrelenting determination I am dedicated to increasing the knowledge, visibility and recognition of the unregulated health care providers, who with genuine compassion deliver day-to-day care to some of our most vulnerable members of society. Certified Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Coach and Virtual Dementia Tour facilitator. Have been a participant in the BC Articulation Committee. A member of the Canadian Nurses Association, Gerontological Nursing Association of BC and Alzheimer’s Society of BC. Educated in the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety course.

Jane MacPheeMedia Team, Prince Edward Island

Her varied work experiences include employment in acute care, long-term care, mental health, and community nursing in Canada and the United States. Jane joined Holland College’s Resident Care Worker Program in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, as a Learning Manager in 2010 and began a career in teaching and learning. Jane strives to engage each student in an active learning journey of preparing for a career as a Resident Care Worker while embarking on a voyage of self-discovery in the process. Building strong communication skills, reflective practices, and self-awareness aptitudes in all learners is her passion and is especially evident in her interest in dementia, mental health, and palliative care. As a model of lifelong learning, Jane is a graduate of the Certificate in Adult Education Program offered jointly by the University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College and is presently a student in the Master of Education in Leadership in Learning with a focus on College Educators Program at The University of Prince Edward Island. As a new member of the CACCE executive, Jane is eager to learn more about personal support workers’ education across Canada while sharing information about Prince Edward Island’s educational and work opportunities for the unregulated worker.

She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing (MScN) with a focus on nursing leadership and knowledge transfer. She was a successful recipient of a fellowship in Transdisciplinary Understandings and Training on Research in Primary Health Care. Alicia has worked as an RN in various health care settings, including Community Care, Acute Care and Long Term Care. As a nurse educator for 15 years, she has worked with BScN, RPN and PSW students. Alicia is the Program Coordinator for the Fanshawe PSW Program at the London and St Thomas campuses. Most recently, she has been involved with the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) initiative to develop an accelerated online program for PSW interns. As a newer member of the CACCE Executive, Alicia is a strong advocate for PSW education. She is committed to not only supporting quality experiences for students, she is passionate about maintaining a high standard of PSW education to improve the quality of life for clients and their families.

She graduated with honours from St. Lawrence College in the RPN program and completed 2 years at St. Francis of Xavier University where she received her certificate in Adult and  Continuing Education and Teaching. Her current role is the PSW Lead/Quality Assurance Coordinator with the Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators (CESBA). Anita is the proud owner of Well Grounded Foot Care Services and in her spare time has been known to dabble in the theatrical sphere.
